PCAN-Router PCAN-Router
The PCAN-Router is a module with two CAN channels, whose data traffic is processed by a programmable ARM microcontroller so that incoming CAN messages can be evaluated, converted, and filtered individually in order to transmit appropriately customized CAN messages to the other network.

An additional LIN channel for the PCAN-Router is also available on request.

You can load your own firmware to the module via CAN using the pre-installed boot loader. The PCAN-Router is shipped with demonstration firmware which performs one-to-one forwarding of the CAN messages between the two CAN channels at 500 kbit/s. In this mode it can be used as a CAN extender. The corresponding source code is supplied on the CD-ROM.

The module is installed in an aluminum case and is shipped in versions with two Sub-D connectors, or a screw-terminal strip.

This package enables any CAN section to be implemented with an optical link. Conversion can be to High Speed CAN or Low Speed CAN and termination selected with internal jumpers. The package supplied contains two modules complete with 5 meters of fibre optical cable including connectors. The modules require an external power supply or they can be powered by batteries.
