iSYSTEM Nexus Evaluation Packages iSYSTEM Nexus Evaluation Packages
A range of target boards with built in iSYSTEM debuggers on the board provide an evaluation and development system for the Freescale Nexus range of microcontroller. Boards are available for the MPC5516, MPC5554, MPC5566 and MPC5567. The packages consists of a board populated with the Freescale Nexus CPU JTAG and Nexus debug connectors, and an on-board integrated iSYSTEM debugger. They comes with a power supply, USB cable and a winIDEA debugger CD including a free full GNU C compiler for MPC and samples to run the board. Additionally, an external Nexus debug tool may be connected to the Nexus 38-pin Mictor debug connector for full on-chip Nexus trace access.

A licence is provided that gives unlimited size compile/downloads for the first 90 days. After this the unit is limited to downloading 32K bytes of code. An upgrade removing this size restriction is available.

The application under development or test can run from the internal CPU flash or from the external SRAM. All CPU signals are accessible with the CPU expansion connector and it may be used to expand the development system by connecting the CPU board to another module. The CPU expansion connector uses the same numbering scheme as the original CPU so locating specific pins is easy.
